More than seventy Ethiopian opposition parties have called for hunger strike in protest of the new electoral and political parties’ law.
According to DW Amharic report, the parties will hold the hunger strike October 26 to 17 for two days.
The oppositions also outlined the human rights violations and the suppression on the freedom of the press that the government is undertaking.
“We have been demanding for a response from the government but we are not being heard,” the statement read.
They also called the people to stand with them against the government by participating on the two days hunger strike.
“The House of Representative must discuss our question on its opening meeting,” they say.
Ethiopian House of Representatives will resume its work in the coming weeks.
