Ethiopian Journalist who opposed to respond when asked his ethnicity is jailed

Aragaw Sisay who opposed when a traffic police asked “what’s your ethnicity?” is jailed, according to local news.

The journalist who  works for Asrat TV were driving to his home after work yesterday, November 12, 2019 was stopped by the traffic police and dragged to a sidewalk.

The police quickly asked him what his ethnicity was. However Aragaw refused to respond to that particular question. Instead, he said “I am Ethiopian.”

Finally, the police took him to the nearby police station and arrested him.

He is not released until we publish this story.
