The West Division of the Ethiopian Air Force inaugurated the expansion project of its new MiG-23 fighter aircraft shaped office building today.

Chief Administrator of the Amhara regional state, Temesgen Tiruneh, Chief of Staff of the Ethiopian Defense Force, Gen. Adem Mohammed, and Commander of the Ethiopian Air Force, Brig Gen Yilma Merdasa attended the inauguration of the project.

The West Division of the Ethiopian Air Force is building its technological capacity and skill to defend the country’s airspace and sovereignty at all times, said Colonel Chernet Mengesha, head of the West Division.

The expansion project would serve as an additional force for the sweeping reform being undertaken within the defense army, he added.

Temsegen Tiruneh for his part said the army forces have contributed a lot in restoring relative peace in the Amhara regional state.

The Chief Administrator also urged the army not to be an instrument for those who want to achieve their own interest.
