The government responded to a recent comment made by Dr. Debretsion G. Michael on his claim “TPLF is in talks with the government”. However, the Ethiopian government has announced that it has not started talks with the Tigray People’s Liberation Front (TPLF).
In an interview with BBC News last week, TPLF chairman Dr. Debretsion G. Michael announced that he had begun talks with the Ethiopian government (indirectly) through other parties.
Dr. Debretsion described the discussion as “promising.”
The Ethiopian government’s Minister of Communications, Dr. Legesse Tulu, told Deutsche Welle today that the Ethiopian government is open to any opportunity to bring peace to the country. But so far, no talks have been held with the TPLF, Dr. Legesse Tulu told the radio station.
