Finfinane Integrated Broadcasting journalist Sebontu Ahmed was released this morning, according to Lemi Taye, the station’s director general.
She was released from a police station in Bischoftu.
It was reported at the time that journalist Sobontu was arrested by police on the evening of Thursday, May 26, 2022, as she was leaving work.
Sebontu, a newsreader and entertainment program host for Finfine Integrated Broadcasting, said she was taken to Bischoftu town the next day.
Sebontu, who has been in custody for the past three days, was released on bail at around 4:30 am on Monday.
The journalist spoke to her by telephone after her release, and the station’s director general told by the police “she would come back to the police station when we needed her”, Ethiopian Insider reported.
