Member of the House of Peoples’ Representatives, Hangasa Ahmed, has called on Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed to take immediate action against Oromia Regional State officials accusing them of involving in killing innocent civilians in the region.
In a lengthy statement posted on his Facebook page, Hangasa said the ongoing killings and massacres in the region are being led by regional officials and called on the prime minister to remove the region’s cabinet and the president.
In his speech, Hangassa claimed that the constitution that allowed to remove the former Somali region’s president Abdi Ille and put him in prison should also work to remove and sue the President of the Oromia Region, Shimeles Abdissa.
He also said that they have been directly involved in the ongoing genocide in the region since the presidency. He added that the business conspiracy, including oil spills in the country, is being led by these people.
He added that if the president and the head of the region’s security are not removed to bring about radical change in Oromia, not only the deaths of Amhara people in the region but also the deaths of the Oromo people will not be stopped.
Angasa Mohammed was elected as the MP during the fifth national election in Harari region from the ruling Prosperity Party.
